DAMILOLA DUROJAIYE

DAMILOLA DUROJAIYE.

Born in ’92 of an African woman,
more Martian than man
brilliance compared to an alien,
thrived stratospherically like Einstein,
Nigeria’s own young Darwin,
sky high soaring.
Shone brightest amidst the constellation,
Peers cheered, loudest the ovation,
sun to his parents,
a short life dint seem apparent.

Bloom of youth,
thirsted for the truth
wondered till sore foot
no fabrication seemed to suit.
Knowledge is hunger,
Curiosity is cancer,
The purpose he existed for,
acknowledged no creator,
doors led to further doors,
quest in for more,,,,,

Embarked on a journey
too expensive for money
willingly paid the price for wisdom
with his life bought freedom
boarded the train to oblivion
aboard the plane to confirm His kingdom
since 2011 31st December
in seance for his answers
"Weep not" he wrote,
The red ink on his suicide note.
Siblings wept in dashed hopes,
As his neck dangled on the tight rope.

  1. I was his friend too. I thought to google him and came across this. I thought it was all philosophy. I didn't realize how bad it was. Got tired and stepped back. I wonder if I could have hung around more. Moved on, but no full closure. Questions.
