DAMILOLA DUROJAIYE

DAMILOLA DUROJAIYE.

Born in ’92 of an African woman,
more Martian than man
brilliance compared to an alien,
thrived stratospherically like Einstein,
Nigeria’s own young Darwin,
sky high soaring.
Shone brightest amidst the constellation,
Peers cheered, loudest the ovation,
sun to his parents,
a short life dint seem apparent.

Bloom of youth,
thirsted for the truth
wondered till sore foot
no fabrication seemed to suit.
Knowledge is hunger,
Curiosity is cancer,
The purpose he existed for,
acknowledged no creator,
doors led to further doors,
quest in for more,,,,,

Embarked on a journey
too expensive for money
willingly paid the price for wisdom
with his life bought freedom
boarded the train to oblivion
aboard the plane to confirm His kingdom
since 2011 31st December
in seance for his answers
"Weep not" he wrote,
The red ink on his suicide note.
Siblings wept in dashed hopes,
As his neck dangled on the tight rope.

CHRONICLE OF DEATH FORETOLD II

CHRONICLE OF DEATH FORETOLD II

I keep having this dream
in my stream
of partial unconsciousness.
Grave the consequences
of ignoring the words
from this inconsequential bard.

Unlike the biblical Isaiah,
I forsee no messaih,
Rather, national disasters, volcanic eruption
of agitation, emancipation and secession.
Geopolitical earthquake
the fatherland threatens to break
but we fold arms,
watching these mad men dance.
Law makers, militants
Law breakers and politicians

Like a burning torch,
all eyes will watch
“Pestilence” what the future holds
Chronicle Of Death Foretold !!
To those who have ears,
Let them hear!

ATMOSPHERE OF GRIEF

ATMOSPHERE OF GRIEF

Earth, a spinning cemetery
Homes are living mortuaries
Posters of obituary
Waiting for everybody

As the our glass drains
En-caved, Enslaved to pains
My souls in chains

My mind free to wander
Drifts faraway Jupiter
So cold I shiver

Set my soul free
From this solitary
Confinement called the body

Inevitability,
Craving for eternity
Like a vampire, certainty
Death is surety.

THE FREE STATE

THE FREE STATE

Send me to oblivion
The state of freedom
Whence vanquished imperialists
Become devoted communists
Here reside no inequalities
Time freezes
The realm of peace
No panic, No rush
No lust, No crush
No heartaches,
No heartbreaks,
No depression, No economic inflation
No ego deflation
Absolute peace
My soul, the winds and the seas
No enemies, No venom
No scorpions No companion

Tears flow with the liquor
The souls I mourn for.
Play the bagpipes
Plucked so unripe
Married to inevitability
An unholy matrimony
